FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

What should I expect during my cosmetic consultation?

During your cosmetic consultation, your dermatologist will assess your skin care concerns and make comprehensive recommendations about procedures that will enhance your appearance based on your aesthetic goals. The doctor will also suggest skin care products that will slow the aging process and reverse some stigmata of photo damage.

Our cosmetic consultations require a $100 deposit. The full amount can be used towards any treatments or products that you choose to purchase.

Are cosmetic procedures covered by insurance?

In general, cosmetic procedures are not covered by insurance. However, we do offer affordable, self-pay options. Contact us at 203.259.7709 for details.

How often should I get a full body skin examination?

We recommend you have a yearly skin check with your dermatologist to detect any suspicious moles or unusual lesions. If you have skin cancer, your doctor will recommend the frequency of your ongoing skin checks.

What is PA-C?

A PA-C is a physician assistant who has specialized training in the medical care of patients. In order to work in Dermatology, a PA-C has completed an internship in a Dermatology practice, where he/she has spent a significant portion of time diagnosing and treating patients with a variety of skin disorders, such as rashes, warts, and molluscum.

On weekdays, please make every effort to contact our office during regular business hours rather than utilizing our after hours emergency call system. On weekends, our emergency line is available for urgent issues that need to be addressed immediately. Please do not utilize the emergency line for prescription refills (including Accutane).
