Dermatologic Surgery

Dermatologic surgery involves diagnosing and treating conditions of the skin, hair, nails and mucous membranes by various surgical methods. Examples include biopsies of suspicious lesions, excision of skin cancers and benign growths such as cysts as well as laser and light based surgeries for the correction of various dermatologic ailments. Dermatologic surgeons also utilize cryosurgical or electrosurgical techniques to cure pre-cancerous lesions, warts or other unwanted growths. Dermatologic surgery is a means of repairing and improving the function and appearance of the skin.

Dermatologic surgeons are physicians who have completed an internship and additional years of specialized residency training in the medical and surgical management of skin disorders including a core curriculum in the therapeutic, reconstructive and cosmetic treatment of skin conditions.
All of our dermatologic surgeons are board certified by the American Board of Dermatology.
