What is SmartLipo ™ laser body sculpting?
SmartLipo ™ laser body sculpting is a minimally invasive technology that destroys fat cells through the use of a laser. The laser rapidly dissolves fat and tightens surrounding skin.
How do I know if I’m a good candidate for SmartLipo ™?
SmartLipo™ laser body sculpting is ideal for small to medium-sized areas that do not respond to diet or exercise. The perfect candidate is in good health and of normal body weight. The treatment is highly effective, and the best responses occur with patients wishing to lose small amounts of fat in localized areas.
How is the procedure performed?
The procedure is performed with local anesthesia (oral medication plus numbing medication injected into the procedure site). Dr. McBean uses a one millimeter cannula (or tube) that is inserted under the skin. A laser fiber inside of the cannula delivers energy directly to fat cells, causing them to rupture and drain away as liquid. The melted fat is then removed by another small suction cannula. Additionally, the laser breaks down old collagen and generates new collagen leading to a tighter, firmer appearance to the skin.
How many SmartLipo treatments do I need?
Typically only one treatment is required. Results can be seen within the first two weeks with continued improvement over three to six months. A compression garment is worn for a short period after treatment to assist the body’s adaptation to its new contours as well as optimizing results.
How soon will I be able to return to work?
Patients are able to return to work in 1 to 2 days, and resume exercise after two weeks.
What body areas respond well to SmartLipo?
- Jaw line
- Male Breasts
- Bra Fat
- Love Handles
- Saddle Bags
- Inner and Outer Thighs
